(Provo, UT) — The defense team for Tyler Robinson says they don’t want a trial in secret, but they do want some documents kept private. They’re especially concerned about motions that they make before the court. Defense lawyers argue the news media is not looking to inform the public but to sensationalize the case for profit. Robinson is charged with shooting and killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk in September. The defendant will be back in court today. He’s seeking to have the Utah County Attorney’s Office disqualified from the case. Defense lawyers argue they have a conflict of interest because a prosecutor got information about the shooting from his adult daughter who was an eyewitness.
