Trio of SLCC Bruins Named As NJCAA Academic All-Americans

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Tuesday, word emerged from the SLCC athletic department that three Bruins men’s basketball players have been named as NJCAA All-Americans.

Nathan Dow, a 6’7″ freshman from Midway, Hunter Schofield, a 6’8″ freshman from Spanish Fork and Alec Monson, a 6’5″ sophomore from Cottonwood Heights, Utah, are the Bruins to receive this distinction.

Dow became a 1st team All-American, while Schofield and Monson each made the second team.

To become a 1st team All-American, a 4.0 GPA is required, while the second team has a GPA requirement of 3.80-3.99.

Dow is planning to major in business finance and Schofield was an academician in high school as well, earning the UHSAA’s prestigious academic all-state distinction. Monson has said he plans to attend law school as soon as his playing days are done.
