Flight Situation Improves After Shutdown Ends

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The federal government shutdown is over and air travel is gradually getting back in gear. Yesterday at Salt Lake City International, there were 14 cancellations and six delays. Nationwide, there are still limitations on big airports because it will take several days to get operations back up to speed. At those airports, a six percent reduction in flights remains in place. However, that number was scheduled to jump to 10 percent today, but that increase was scratched when the shutdown ended.
