New evacuation orders have been announced for the Monroe Canyon Fire. In an emergency alert from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, evacuations were ordered for Long Flat, Big Lake and Porters area. It stated, “if you are within the Monroe or Cove Mountains area evacuate now. Take pets with you and shut off your HVAC. Anyone from outside the area should stay away.” As of this afternoon the fire is listed at 10,977 acres and is thirteen percent contained.
