TAYLORSVILLE, Utah-Former Salt Lake C.C. pitching star Ben Weese has committed to continue his collegiate playing career at BYU, per an announcement released by the SLCC athletic department Thursday.

Weese, a left-hander who starred at Mountain Crest High School, went 9-1 for the Bruins, posting 66 strikeouts on the season while netting an ERA of 3.15 and leading the squad in innings pitched with 68.2 innings in 2018.

Weese is the second Salt Lake C.C. baseball star to continue his career as last month, left-handed pitcher Sterling Lay signed with the Division II Montana State-Billings Yellow Jackets.
