Utah Among States With Highest NP Spending

(St. George, UT) — Utah residents and tourists are spending a lot of money in or near national parks. New federal data shows the Beehive State ranked third in the country after outdoor enthusiasts spent nearly two-billion dollars in communities near national parks. Only California and North Carolina saw a bigger impact from spending. Two Utah parks were also among the most popular in the southwest, with spending near Zion National Park at roughly 676-million dollars, which was good for second place. Bryce Canyon came in fourth with 232-million dollars.
