2nd Congressional GOP Primary May Go To Recount

(St. George, UT) — The 2nd Congressional District Republican primary could be headed to a recount. Utah’s counties finalized vote totals yesterday which showed incumbent Celeste Maloy’s lead go down to 214 votes, or less than point-two-five percentage points. If it stays underneath that threshold when the results are canvassed later this month, challenger Colby Jenkins will have the chance to request a recount. His campaign told the Salt Lake Tribune Jenkins will call for a recount if the vote remains that close. Maloy told reporters she’s going to worry about going to Capitol Hill and representing her district, not a potential recount.
