(Salt Lake City, UT) — The University of Utah is going ahead with its plans for commencement this week, despite the recent protests on campus. What is also expected as students don cap and gowns is the presence of tighter security. Officials say the smaller college convocations are Thursday and Friday with commencement on Thursday at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The graduation is a non-ticketed event and seating is first come, first served. It is suggested that guests be seated by 5:45 p.m. Officials say anyone attempting to disrupt these events will be removed from campus.
