The Public Open House for the Manti Temple ended Friday. The Open House Committee reported hosting 230,665 guests during the 20 day Public Open House which drew visitors from all over the State of Utah, many parts of the United States and foreign countries as well. The Open House made it possible for visitors to walk through many areas of this historic Temple including the amazing experience of climbing the two spiral staircases to the Assembly Hall — Priesthood Room on the 3rd floor of the Temple. Many of the Temple Open House visitors endured long lines and wet, cold and windy weather but expressed gratitude for this once-in-a-life time opportunity to see the amazing craftsmanship and feel peaceful spirit of this historic House of the Lord in Manti. The Manti Utah Temple was first dedicated in 1888 after 11 years of construction by early Sanpete Valley Pioneers. The temple was rededicated in 1985 after an extensive 4 year renovation and will be rededicated again on Sunday Apr. 21. Following the rededication, the Manti Temple will be open to temple patrons on Tuesday, April 23.
