EPHRAIM, Utah-Snow College athletics had a busy Monday with men’s basketball and softball each making headlines.
In men’s basketball, the Badgers signed Layton High School boys basketball star Mekhi Martin.
The 6’1″ 180-pound Martin averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game for the Lancers, who were Class 6A’s top seed in the state playoffs this past season.
Martin also received second-team all-state honors from The Deseret News.
In softball news, Snow sophomore outfielder Hadlee Walker recorded four home runs and 12 RBI while batting .643 at the plate in the Badgers’ four-game sweep of Colorado Northwestern to earn SWAC player of the week honors. Walker is presently on a 6-game hitting streak as Snow returns to action Wednesday and Thursday against USU-Eastern Utah.
