Around 4:00 p.m. on Mar. 16, Salina City Officers were dispatched to Barrett’s Market where managers informed the officers that two people had attempted to cash checks for a large amount of money. They were concerned that the checks may be fraudulent. The subjects had already left the store, but officers located their vehicle and made a traffic stop. In a post to their Facebook page, the SCPD shared, “during the investigation two subjects were taken into custody but a third subject took off running away.” Several police agencies responded and 37-year-old Frank Timothy of Richfield was located hiding in a residence in Salina where he was taken into custody. Timothy, along with 26-year-old Curtis Sanchez of Saline and 23-year-old Summer Pearson of Milford were booked into the Sevier County Jail. The subjects were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to stop at the command of a police officer.
