(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s largest school voucher program is underway. After a brief website shutdown, the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program site was running within 15 minutes of its planned launch time. Five-thousand K-thru-12 students will be receiving eight-thousand dollars of state money to go toward private education. Opponents of the program argue that it takes away from public schools and low-income families won’t be able to use it because private school costs around 11-thousand on average. GOP proponents applaud the school choice and believe it will help low income families. Those interested can apply thru April 15th.
