Political School Flag Ban Fails In The State House

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The bill that would have banned flags deemed political or religious failed in the house. Lawmakers felt the terms of what is and not political was not defined well enough to pass and did not want to “silence” teachers. The bill did however define LGBTQ-plus topics that would have been banned like “gender identity” and “sexual orientation.” Those not in favor also pointed to the scope of the bill being too wide.
