Region 12
NEPHI, Utah-Kanyon Mattinson’s 17 points on 8-13 from the field led the way and the Juab Wasps got past Carbon 54-49 Wednesday in Region 12 boys basketball play at The Pit. Kahner Raby’s 17 points and 13 rebounds led the Dinos in the loss. With the win, Juab improved to 10-7 and 3-6 in Region 12 play while Carbon fell to 7-10 and 3-6 in Region 12 play. The Wasps return to action Friday at home against North Sanpete.
DELTA, Utah-Bronco Bundy posted 20 points and the Delta Rabbits clipped Emery 62-55 in Region 12 boys basketball play Wednesday at the Palladium. Luke Justice led the Spartans in defeat with 18 points.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Ridge Hendry netted 20 points and the North Sanpete Hawks got past Canyon View 62-57 in Region 12 boys basketball play Wednesday. Carson Miles’ game-high 21 points led the Falcons in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Jorgen Southwick and Miles Barnett had 13 points apiece and the Richfield Wildcats downed Manti 52-47 Wednesday in Region 12 boys basketball play. Austin Thomas’ 11 points led the Templars in defeat.
Region 18
FILLMORE, Utah-Deegan Blackner recorded 21 points and the Beaver Beavers stymied Millard 58-49 in Region 18 boys basketball play Wednesday. Treyden Terry had 17 points in the loss for the Eagles.
HILDALE, Utah-Stockton Roberts netted 15 points and the South Sevier Rams drilled Water Canyon 75-45 Wednesday in Region 18 boys basketball play.
Girls Basketball
Region 20
JUNCTION, Utah-Savannah Williams led the way with 14 points and the Wayne Badgers downed Piute 47-41 in Region 20 girls basketball play Wednesday. Amy Morgan had 13 points for the Thunderbirds in the loss.
PANGUITCH, Utah-Tabetha Henrie posted 18 points and the Panguitch Bobcats routed Escalante 64-34 Wednesday in Region 20 girls basketball play. Mazee Dunton led the Moquis in the loss with 22 points.
TROPIC, Utah-Kimber Reeve stepped up with 12 points and the Valley Buffalos surged past Bryce Valley 49-37 in Region 20 girls basketball play Wednesday. Grace Leech and Kinlee Brinkerhoff had 10 points apiece in the loss for the Mustangs.
Boys Wrestling
MANTI, Utah-The North Sanpete Hawks pulled away from Manti for a 45-30 dual win in boys wrestling action Wednesday. The Hawks had seven pins in the victory from Chase Sorensen, Krew King, Teagin Poulsen, Mckade Sweat, Wiley Allred and Karson Curtis. Caleb Maxwell, Tala Taulapapa and Dallin Sweat earned pins for Manti in the loss.
MORGAN, Utah-The Morgan Trojans topped Juab 35-32 in a tight boys wrestling dual Wednesday. Aisea Hosea, Cajun Shepherd and Ladd Holman earned pins in the loss for the Wasps.
Girls Wrestling
MANTI, Utah-The Manti Templars shutout Richfield 21-0 in a girls wrestling dual Wednesday night. Earning pins in the win for Manti was Aliyah Zedicher at 105 pounds, Rachel Southworth at 120 pounds and Danelynn Castro at 235 pounds.
