LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State University vice president and director of athletics Diana Sabau announced the basketball court inside the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum will be named in honor of former Aggies men’s basketball coach Stew Morrill.
A ceremony wherein the change will occur is slated for February 10 when Utah State hosts Boise State.
Morrill coached the Aggies from 1998-2015, posting a record of 402-156 (.720).
Morrill led the Aggies to 7 NCAA Tournament appearances, 8 regular season championships and 7 conference tournament championships.
Morrill was 620-294 (.678) overall as a Division I men’s basketball head coach as he also coached at Montana (1986-1991) and Colorado State (1991-1998).
