A Richfield teen is dead after an accident at Knight’s Corn Maze on Oct. 27. According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office the boy went missing while helping clean up at the end of the day, but was found a short time later with the rope of a tetherball pole around his neck. CPR was administered until emergency crews arrived. Deputies were able to get a pulse, then rushed him to the hospital, but he died a few hours later. Sevier County Sheriff Nathan Curtis said the incident is believed to have been an accident and there is no evidence of foul play. A go fund me account for the boy, Maximus Knight, age 13, was created by his aunt to help cover funeral and medical costs and a candlelight vigil was held at the Richfield Lions park on the night of Oct. 30.
