(Bryce Canyon City, UT) — An Arizona woman is dead after going for a hike at Bryce Canyon National Park. The National Park Service says 64-year-old Jeanne Howell was found within Campbell Canyon early Saturday morning. The discovery was made by the Utah Department of Public Safety and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office after Howell was reported overdue the day before. Park officials described it as a “tragic event” and noted thunderstorms brought heavy rain into the area during the time of her hike, leading to flash flooding along the trail.
