(Salt Lake City, UT) — There will be more patrol officers looking for impaired drivers ahead of the upcoming Labor Day Weekend. The Utah Highway Patrol says there are over 180 extra shifts scheduled among different agencies for DUI enforcement. The Department of Public Safety says there have been over 500 alcohol or drug-related crashes in 2023, along with 51 fatalities.
