LOGAN, Utah-Monday, Utah State University president Elizabeth Cantwell announced Diana Sabau is the new athletic director and vice president at USU.
Sabau comes to Logan after serving as the deputy commissioner and chief sports officer of The Big Ten Conference.
Sabau was responsible for overseeing all 28 of the sports the conference sponsors.
She has also served as the senior deputy athletics director at The Ohio State University and specifically as the Buckeyes’ administrator for football, women’s ice hockey and of the co-ed rifle and pistol programs on the Columbus, Ohio-based campus.
Sabau has a Master’s in sports administration from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University (N.Y.).
Sabau will officially be introduced at a news conference later this week.
