Police Searching for Interloper In Beaver County

Around 11:20 p.m. on July 23, Beaver County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting some type of assault. The female caller stated she was on a dirt road but didn’t know exactly where, but during the call authorities were able to obtain her location through the 911 mapping system. The victim reported that she had left work in Beaver and started home. While driving, a male suspect appeared in the back of her car. He was described to be a male with dark complexion, wearing a face cover and some dark clothing. The caller stated she believed he was possibly African American. The caller stated that the subject was armed with a gun and a knife.

The victim was located in an area north of Minersville and she was transported to Beaver Valley Hospital. According to a press release from the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office, “an extensive search was done by air and ground assets, but nothing has been located at this time.” They also shared “we appreciate the public’s help in this matter . . . due to the number of calls we are receiving, we ask that you only call if you have pertinent information or witness suspicious activity that may be related to this case.”

The Sheriff’s Office closed the release by stating, “for safety reasons we would ask for you to be vigilant and constantly aware of your surroundings and do not hesitate to call 911 if you find yourself in an emergency situation.”
