Cox Declares June Pride Month, No Mention Of “LGBTQ+”

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Governor Spencer Cox declared June Pride Month yesterday in a slightly different way than during his first two years in office. Cox’s 2023 Pride Month declaration said, “The state of Utah values the uniqueness of all individuals within our communities and recognizes that everyone has a place in our state.” In past years, his identical declarations encouraged Utahns to “be more inclusive and accepting of the LGBTQ-plus members of our community.” The Governor’s Office didn’t respond to questions about why the declaration changed this year.
