(American Fork, UT) — Utahns can keep an eye on real-time flooding conditions across the state, thanks to a new website. The site Governor Cox unveiled yesterday offers multiple nearly live camera views of rivers and creeks as warming temperatures raise the risk of flooding. The cameras are fixed to mobile surveillance units and positioned by American Fork-based LVT, which combines high-tech security equipment with surveillance software. The system uses about 20 cameras on a half-dozen streams, including Chalk Creek in Fillmore, Pine Creek in Meadow, Salina Creek in Salina, the Provo River in Kamas, the Weber River in Ogden, and Ashley Creek in Vernal. The cameras can be accessed at the new floods.utah.gov website.
