EPHRAIM, Utah-Markessa Jensen homered and the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles completed a SWAC softball doubleheader sweep of Snow with an 8-3 win over the Badgers Friday. Brooke Merrill’s three strikeouts in seven innings of work earned her the win in the circle for the Golden Eagles. August Cowan homered in the loss for the Badgers.
EPHRAIM, Utah-Saige Nielsen homered and the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles blanked Snow 9-0 Friday in the first game of a SWAC softball doubleheader.
Nielsen’s 5 RBI on the afternoon led the Golden Eagles to the win.
Gracie Walters netted 10 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Southern Idaho.
Kaitlyn Slade recorded both of Snow’s hits in defeat for the Badgers.
With Friday’s results, the Golden Eagles improved to 26-12 and 14-7 in SWAC play. With the losses, the Badgers fell to 16-12 and 8-9 in SWAC play.
Another doubleheader occurs Saturday at Ephraim which will conclude the series.
