Cox Signs Bill To Create New Utah State Flag

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah will be getting a new state flag next year. Governor Cox signed a bill creating the new state flag yesterday. An executive order also signed by the governor outlines steps that will be taken to “preserve the significance” of Utah’s current state flag, which will now be called the historic flag. The order will allow the historic flag to be displayed above the new flag at the State Capitol building, and allow state agencies to display the historic flag on legal holidays. The new flag won’t go on display until March of next year.
