(Salt Lake City, UT) — State officials are urging Utahns to prepare for possible flooding that could occur later this week. Winter weather is expected to hit the state again tonight, with parts of northern and southern Utah under a winter weather advisory. Rain and warmer temperature later this week could cause sheet flooding in some areas. The Utah Division of Emergency Management is urging residents to clear debris from creeks, streams and ditches, prepare sandbags and move snow away from the foundations of homes. The agency says the risk of flooding will last through the spring.
