We have an update on a missing person. In a post to their Facebook page on Jan. 31, the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office shared that they were able to locate the vehicle of Austin Madsen in the Dry Hollow area on Mount Dutton in Garfield County. Search and rescue were able to locate and follow a trail of footprints through the snow for several miles, believed to have been left by Madsen, but the search had to be suspended due to extreme weather conditions. The search resumed at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 31 with Search and Rescue crews from Piute, Sevier and Garfield Counties. It was shared that low temperatures and high winds are making the search incredibly difficult. This is an active search, and we will update you with more information as it becomes available.
