(Salt Lake City, UT) — The Utah Department of Public Safety is asking drivers to fasten their seat belts before they travel during the holiday weekend. The Utah Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies will be conducting enhanced seat belt enforcement through Sunday. The UHP says seat belt use has increased to nearly 92-percent this year, a four-percent increase from last year. The agency is reminding drivers that wearing a seat belt properly can save lives in the event of a crash.
