(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s lieutenant governor says state election workers value accuracy over speed when it comes to counting up votes in the general election. Lieutenant Governor Deidre Henderson said yesterday that counting ballots takes time, and that’s especially true this year. Some Utah voters waited until the last minute on Tuesday to turn in their ballots or join the line to vote in person. The Salt Lake County Clerk’s Office said there were about 170-thousand ballots left to be counted yesterday afternoon.
