(Salt Lake City, UT) — Weather forecasters are urging Utahns to be prepared ahead of what could be the first winter storm of the season. The National Weather Service expects the storm to start moving into the state on Friday, bringing high winds to areas west of Interstate 15. Rain will begin falling in northern Utah by midday Saturday and then move south, with some snow possible in higher elevations. Temperatures are expected to drop on Sunday, with a hard freeze expected in many Utah valleys by Monday morning.
