Cross Country Roundup: 9/8

NEPHI, Utah-Thursday, Canyon View boys and girls cross country each won championships at the Juab Cross Country Invitational 2022.

For the boys, the Falcons posted a score of 93. The results were as follows:

Richfield’s Richard Crane won the individual title in a time of 14:46.20. North Sanpete was led by Tezra Fisk (8th place; 15:59.10). Manti was paced by Tyler Taggart (24th place; 16:32.70). Juab was led by Talmage Day (10th place; 16:04.30.

Delta was paced by Gage Smith (9th place; 16:01.40)

For the girls, Canyon View won the team title with a score of 89. Manti placed 7th with a score of 156. North Sanpete placed 9th with a score of 225.

Ali Stevens of Juan Diego won the individual title in a time of 18:15.00.

Manti’s Keltsy Fowles placed ninth overall (20:03.40) and North Sanpete’s Tylee Henrie placed 29th overall (21:17.80). Delta’s Paige Curtis (20:14.70) finished 11th overall.

SALINA, Utah-Thursday, the North Sevier boys and North Summit girls each won team titles at the 2022 North Sevier Blackhawk meet.

The North Sevier boys posted a score of 37 to win the title. The team results are as follows:

  1. North Sevier 37
  2. North Summit 50
  3. South Sevier 85
  4. Tintic 98
  5. Pinnacle 121
  6. Gunnison Valley 81

Josh Rust of North Summit won the individual title in a time of 18:51.80. North Sevier’s best finisher on the day, Emmitt Nelson, placed third overall (19:45.60). Erick Robinson of South Sevier placed sixth overall (20:21.80).

Rene Van Dyke of Gunnison Valley placed 28th overall (25:45.00) to lead the Bulldogs.

For the girls, North Summit won the team title with a score of 18. North Sevier placed second with a score of 46.

The Braves’ Chayden Sargent (22:42.70) won the individual title.

The Wolves were led by Karla McCoy, who placed 3rd overall in a time of 24:30.60.

Grace Fiore of Wasatch Academy led the Tigers by placing 15th overall in a time of 32:33.20.
