State Requires Schools To Have Bullying Investigator

(Salt Lake City, UT) — The state is making some significant changes to rules regarding how schools and school districts handle cases of bullying. The changes come after two students took their own lives due to bullying. The Utah State Board of Education will now require schools to have one person who specifically deals with bullying complaints. The person will be specially trained on how and why kids are bullied and will investigate each report making sure parents are informed throughout the investigation. A prevention specialist for the board says the new position will allow districts to collect better data on who and how children are being bullied.
