(Washington, DC) — Senator Mike Lee is joining other Republicans seeking changes to the television content rating system. Lee is requesting the system include warnings for “disturbing content” on kids’ programs that would include LGBTQ characters. In the letter to the TV Parental Guidelines Monitoring Board, Lee and other senators bring up concerns they have about comments from a Disney executive who was open to having more LGBTQ lead characters . The group argues that such programming exposes children to sexual isses and “destabilizes and damages parental rights.”
