Anthony Christensen was once again in Sixth District Court in Manti as the one year anniversary of the death of his girlfriend, Kammy Mae Edmunds, approaches. Christensen has been charged with Edmunds murder on March 31, 2017. In Wednesday’s court hearing, Christensen said he had filed a motion to dismiss his court-appointed attorney, David J. Angerhofer, and asked the court to appoint a new attorney in the case. He indicated he communication with Angerhofer had been confusing and limited. But Judge Wallace Lee said there was no evidence of a conflict of interest between Christensen and Angerhofer and denied the request. Angerhofer did request a better way to share evidence with Christensen at the jail since most of it is on an SD card and is difficult to project the information onto the brick wall at the jail. Christensen and Angerhofer both indicated they will file multiple motions in the case, and both the prosecution and defense asked for a special session to address all motions. That session has been scheduled for June 4. Christensen also indicated his desire for the case to go to trial, and Sanpete County Attorney Kevin Daniels said he would be happy to take the case to trial as well.
