CEDAR CITY, Utah-Per Monday news, Southern Utah men’s basketball has been selected to host a first round game in The Basketball Classic against the Kent State Golden Flashes of the Mid-American Conference.
The 20-11 (14-6 in Big Sky play) Thunderbirds and the Golden Flashes (23-10, 16-4 in MAC play) will meet Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the first meeting between the programs in history.
This game has been designated as the Willis Reed game, named in honor of the former New York Knickerbockers star center who has been enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame.
The winning team in this game will receive a trophy named in Reed’s honor before advancing to the next game.
