(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah lawmakers are going to get a birds-eye view of the damage the drought has done to the Great Salt Lake. Beginning today, the Utah Air National Guard will be taking lawmakers on a flyover of the lake using Blackhawk helicopters. State Representative Doug Owens arranged the trips as a way to give his colleagues a better understanding of the scope of the problem. The Utah Legislature is already considering several bills that seek to deal with the drought and its impact on the lake.
