Bill To Stock Free Feminine Hygiene Products In Public Schools Moves Forward

(Salt Lake City, UT) — A bill that would require Utah’s public schools to stock feminine hygiene products in some restrooms is moving forward in the legislature. The House Education Committee unanimously approved House Bill 162 yesterday. The bill would require elementary, middle and high schools in the state to provide a stock of those products in all female and unisex bathrooms. If passed, the bill is expected to cost the Utah State Board of Education more than four-million dollars over two years.
