(Moab, UT) — An independent report is spotlighting “unintentional mistakes” made by Moab police officers during their contact with Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie last year. The report released yesterday faulted the Moab officers for failing to cite Petito for domestic violence during their contact with the couple last August. The review also criticized police for not getting a statement from a 911 caller who claimed he saw Laundrie hit Petito in Moab. The investigators recommended placing the officers involved on probation, as well as giving all officers additional training on investigating domestic violence. The city said in a statement that it plans to implement the report’s recommendations.
