(Salt Lake City, UT) — The board that oversees police officer conduct in Utah is relaxing its guidelines for cannabis use for some emergency personnel. The Utah POST Council voted yesterday to remove a waiting period for cadets seeking jobs as emergency dispatchers. The board had required those cadets to wait at least one year from the last time they used cannabis to apply for a dispatching position. Cadets who previously used cannabis and want to be gun-carrying officers will still have to wait at least 12 months before they can apply.
