USU Athletics Announces Contract Extension For Blake Anderson

LOGAN, Utah-Friday, Utah State University vice president and director of athletics John Hartwell announced head football coach Blake Anderson agreed to a two-year contract extension.

This will keep him at the helm in Logan through the 2027 season. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Anderson led the Aggies to an 11-3 record, including a 6-2 mark in Mountain West Conference play, in his first season as Utah State’s head coach.

Utah State bested Oregon State 24-13 in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl December 18 at Inglewood, Calif.

Anderson was named the American Football Coaches Association Region 5 Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year and a semifinalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year Awards.

Anderson was one of 19 newly hired coaches in the FBS this season. He was the only one to win nine or more games in 2021.
