Person Air Lifted After Crash Involving Dump Truck

One person is in the hospital after a crash involving a dump truck and a passenger car on Nov. 22. According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Clay Morgan, the dump truck was traveling North on Highway 89, North of Ephraim, around 4:30 p.m. when it swerved off the right side of the road to avoid running into the back of a slow moving vehicle.

The driver then swerved back onto the roadway, crossing the center line into the southbound lanes where it struck a Toyota Corolla. According to reports “the dump truck rolled onto its driver’s side and landed on the Corolla’s engine compartment just missing the driver.”

The driver of the Toyota was air lifted to Utah Valley Hospital with serious injures, the driver of the dump truck was uninjured.
