(St. George, UT) — The state is set to begin taking applications for the spring bear hunt. Utah’s spring bear hunt is still a couple of months away but starting February 6th, the office of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will take applications. Bear hunters can apply for a hunting permit or a pursuit permit. The pursuit permit allows chasing down a bear with dog teams but does not allow the bear to be taken, captured or killed. The applications must be received no later than February 27th. Information on how to apply is available in the 2017 Utah Black Bear Guidebook published at Wildlife.Utah.gov.
