SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, University of Utah senior long snapper Keegan Markgraf  and Utah State senior defensive end Nick Heninger were among 30 student-athletes across NCAA FBS football as candidates for the senior CLASS award.

Markgraf, an economics major from Hamilton, Ontario, has landed on the U of U’s Deans List three times and to the athletics director’s honor roll six times.

Heninger, a native of South Jordan, Utah, earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah and a master’s in business administration from Utah State in the spring of 2014.

The 30 candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists later this season. Those 10 names will be placed on an official ballot for the award.

The winner will be announced during bowl season in December.
