UVU Men’s Basketball’s Todd Phillips Promoted To Associate Head Coach

OREM, Utah-Monday, Utah Valley University men’s basketball head coach Mark Madsen confirmed Todd Phillips has been promoted to assistant head coach of the Wolverines’ program.

Phillips is about to commence his third season on the UVU staff  and helped the Wolverines to the WAC regular season title last season.

Phillips’ responsibilities on the team include coaching the Wolverines’ forwards and centers. His prize pupil, redshirt sophomore center Fardaws Aimaq, became the first player in program history last season to average 15 rebounds per game.

Aimaq led the nation in total rebounds (330), rebounds per game (15) and defensive rebounds per game (10.7; 10.68)

Phillips arrived on UVU’s staff from Salt Lake Community College. In nine seasons as the Bruins’ head coach, Phillips posted a record of 205-58 (.779), including an 82-32 mark (.719) in Scenic West play.
