Snow College Football Player Dies in Crash

A Snow College football player is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Ephraim over the weekend. School officials shared in a press release that the crash occurred Sunday evening on 100 North, but no other details were provided.

The school has confirmed the identity of the individual as Mafatini Mafatini.

In a statement from school officials it was shared that “a support team at the college has been assembled to help friends and teammates.”

In a tweet sent out early Monday morning, Snow College defensive coordinator Jan Jorgensen shared: “It’s nights like tonight when you realize football means very little and at the same time, it means everything. The bond and brotherhood felt by these young men will carry them through some of the worst moments of their lives. This team will forever have a place in my heart.”

Snow College has confirmed a gathering will occur Monday at 8:00 pm at Robert Stoddard Field at Terry Foote Stadium. Select items have been placed at the entrance to the stadium in his honor.
