Football

3-A South

NEPHI, Utah-Wesley Nielsen hauled in 6 receptions for 163 yards and a pair of scores and the Juab Wasps decimated North Sanpete 41-12 Friday in 3-A South play. The Wasps now lead the Hawks 30-23 all-time and have won 6 straight games in this rivalry series. Nielsen added a 2-yard touchdown run for the Wasps in the victory. Chase Ingram (7 touches, 117 scrimmage yards) added a 25-yard touchdown run and a 60-yard scoring reception for Juab while Ryker Richards returned an interception 12 yards for anothe r score for the Wasps.

Alex Jackson (17-24, 276 yards, 3 TD’s) added another steady performance at quarterback for the Wasps while Landon Bowles (17-26, 205 yards, TD, 4 INT’s) struggled mightily with turnovers as Juab outgained North Sanpete 457-291.

Tyler Allan threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Bowles via a trick play and caught a 17-yard scoring pass from Bowles in the loss for the Hawks.

Juab improves to 6-1 (2-0 in 3-A South play) with the win while North Sanpete slumps to 2-5 (0-2 in 3-A South play) in defeat.

The Wasps remain home Friday to face Richfield and North Sanpete hosts Manti Friday as 3-A South play ensues for both squads.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Reggie Hafen threw touchdown passes to Ethan Vaka (46 yards) and Cort Moon (12 yards) as the Richfield Wildcats waxed Carbon 30-7 in 3-A South football play Friday as the Wildcats had a successful Homecoming. Jaron Ross had touchdown runs of 2 and 1 yards for the Wildcats in victory. JT Raisor added a 28-yard field goal for the Wildcats in the win.

MANTI, Utah-Kayson Douglas threw touchdown passes of 20 and 65 yards to Reggie Frischknecht and Larson Pogroszewski added an 11-yard touchdown pass to Frischknecht (who was named the player of the game) as the Manti Templars smacked Canyon View 32-14 in 3-A South football play Friday. Pogroszewski added a 55-yard touchdown run and a 40-yard interception return for another score for the Templars.

2-A South

BLANDING, Utah-Jace Palmer threw touchdown passes to Cooper Black (22 yards) and 41 yards (Landon Black) as the San Juan Broncos pummeled Millard 41-7 in 2-A South play Friday. James Stephenson threw a 32-yard scoring pass to Mehki Davis in defeat for the Eagles.

MOAB, Utah-Tyten Fails threw three touchdown passes and the Beaver Beavers pulverized Grand 69-6 Friday in 2-A South play. Bentley Bradshaw returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and added a 49-yard scoring run for the Beavers. The Beavers also received touchdown runs from Statler Wright (10 yards), Jayton Jessup (1 yard), Cobe Carter (1 yard) and Kutlur Matheson (9 yards).

DELTA, Utah-Josh Jackson had scoring runs of 64, 1, 47 and 38 yards and the Delta Rabbits pounded South Sevier 41-6 in 2-A South play Friday. Ryder Rogers added touchdown runs of 16 and 55 yards for the Rabbits in victory. Carter Abraham threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Seth Checketts in defeat for the Rams.

1-A South

KANAB, Utah-Travis Stewart had touchdown runs of 73 and 77 yards as the Kanab Cowboys pummeled Gunnison Valley 48-7 Friday in 1-A South play. Karson Blomquist added a pair of touchdown runs (1 and 8 yards) for the Cowboys in the rout. The Cowboys also received scoring runs from Griffin Bone (10 yards), Preston Houston (5 yards) and Nate Stewart (6 yards) in victory. Jack Hansen had a 3-yard touchdown run in the loss for the Bulldogs.

MILFORD, Utah-Bo Hardy threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Milford Tigers pounded Parowan 30-7 in 1-A South play Friday. Treven Yardley had a 7-yard scoring run in the loss for the Rams.

SALINA, Utah-Matthew Ramos threw touchdown passes of 72 and 9 yards to Clayton Anzalone as the Enterprise Wolves edged North Sevier 27-26 Friday in 1-A South play in the battle of the Wolves. Cauy Williams caught touchdown passes of 15 yards from Ryker Frischknecht and 58 yards from Kannin Boswell in the loss for North Sevier. Boswell added a 17-yard touchdown run for North Sevier in defeat and Nathan Snyder stepped up with a 13-yard TD run for North Sevier.

Baseball

1-A South

BICKNELL, Utah-Kyler Bennett posted 10 strikeouts and the Panguitch Bobcats routed Wayne 8-1 in 1-A South baseball action Friday.

TROPIC, Utah-Joel Romo’s walk-off home run led the Bryce Valley Mustangs to a 10-9 win over the Diamond Rach Diamondbacks Friday in 1-A South baseball play. Romo and Trey Clark had six strikeouts apiece on the mound for the Mustangs in the victory.

PRICE, Utah-Cooper Chamberlain and MaCoy Harris had 2 RBI apiece as the Valley Buffaloes pummeled Pinnacle 13-1 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. Chamberlain also added 12 strikeouts to secure the win on the mound for the Buffaloes.

JUNCTION, Utah-Gus Allen and Raegen Dalton each drove in three runs and the Piute Thunderbirds took the first game of a doubleheader against Green River, prevailing 11-0 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. Kyle Morgan had 5 strikeouts in victory for Piute.

JUNCTION, Utah-Kole Westwood posted a pair of RBI and the Piute Thunderbirds hammered Green River 8-1 Friday in 1-A South baseball play, completing the sweep in the doubleheader against the Pirates. Brooks Dalton’s 5 strikeouts led the Thunderbirds on the mound in victory.

Volleyball

Non-Region

CEDAR CITY, Utah-The Manti Templars drilled Canyon View 3-1 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Templars downed the Falcons 25-18, 25-23, 19-25, 25-16. Adrienne Shelley’s 14 kills led the Templars in victory.

JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds stymied Tabiona 3-1 in non-region volleyball play Friday. The Thunderbirds waxed the Tigers 25-21, 23-25, 25-18, 25-14 to prevail in four sets.
