Baseball

1-A South

TROPIC, Utah-Joel Romo drove in a pair of runs and the Bryce Valley Mustangs pounded Pinnacle 11-0 in 1-A South baseball action Wednesday. Jaxon Brinkerhoff posted four strikeouts for Bryce Valley in the win.

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Jake Batty posted eight strikeouts and Jake Peterson drove in four runs as the Wayne Badgers got past Valley 9-7 Wednesday in 1-A South baseball play. Layton Spencer had 2 RBI in defeat for the Buffaloes.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Kyler Bennett drove in three runs and the Panguitch Bobcats pounded the Green River Pirates 17-0 in 1-A South baseball play Wednesday.

JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back as they flew away from Diamond Ranch 13-1 Wednesday in 1A South Region baseball action.

Volleyball

Region 20

TROPIC, Utah-The Bryce Valley Mustangs decimated Diamond Ranch 3-0 in Region 20 volleyball play Wednesday. The Mustangs prevailed over the Diamondbacks 25-2, 25-8, 25-9 for the straight sets rout.

BICKNELL, Utah-The Wayne Badgers stymied Water Canyon 3-1 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball play. The Badgers downed the Wildcats 17-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

MILFORD, Utah-The Milford Tigers outlasted Escalante 3-2 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball play. The Tigers prevailed 23-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-17, 17-15 to get past the Moquis. Brynley Wunderlich’s 19 kills led the Tigers in victory.

Boys Golf

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats won a Region 12 boys golf tournament on their home course Wednesday with a score of 302. Carbon placed second with a 312, followed by Emery’s 331. Grand came in fourth with a 338 and Canyon View finished fifth with a 354.

Individually Richfield’s Keaton Anderson shot a 71 to win the tournament. Bode Salas of Carbon came in second with a 73, Wyatt Toney of Grand placed third with a 74, followed by Richfield’s Jaygen Mullen in fourth with a 75 and Emery’s Trevin Wakefield rounded out the top five with a 76.
