(Salt Lake City, UT) – Salt Lake City is going against Utah’s political and religious leaders in showing its support for a transgender student’s federal court case. The city joined a friend of the court brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court yesterday in support of Gavin Grim. The transgender boy filed suit against his Virginia school district after it denied him access to the boys’ restrooms at his school. The Mormon Church and Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes have both filed briefs in support of the school district’s right to deny that access.Â
