Officials Warn Of Utility Scam

(St. George, UT) — Officials want you to be aware of a utility scam that continues to make the rounds. The state Division of Consumer Protection says callers scare people into forking over money from reloadable cards. They tell them they owe money to Rocky Mountain Power and they face arrest or service being shut off if they don’t pay right away. You’re reminded that Rocky Mountain Power will never ask for payment over the phone. You’re asked to call RMP if you get one of those scam calls.
