Angela Atwood pleads guilty to reduced charges

The final defendant in a case involving the robbery and subsequent murder of two Mt. Pleasant residents has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from her involvement in the crimes. Angela Atwood pleaded guilty to reduced charges of burglary of a dwelling, a 2nd degree felony; and attempted robbery, a 3rd degree felony in Sixth District Court on Wednesday. Initial charges included two first degree felonies, but those charges were amended in return for her guilty pleas.

Atwood was a party to the robbery, theft and murder of Leroy “Woody” and Dorothy Fullwood in their Mt. Pleasant home in late December 2011. She and Logan Mcfarland then fled to Nevada where they kidnapped a former personal trainer and stole a car. They were finally arrested after being spotted in the Nevada desert, and both were sentenced to lengthy prison terms in Nevada. After being returned to Utah, Mcfarland pled guilty to the murders and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Atwood will be sentenced on May 3 after Adult Probation and Parole completes a pre-sentence investigation.
