New commissioner for Sevier County

The Sevier County Republican Party central committee has selected Ken May as the new Sevier County commissioner, replacing Gary Mason who announced his retirement from the commission in February. Once he is approved by the current commissioners, May will take the oath of office and begin his term. If he is approved, he will have to run for re-election in 2018 to retain his seat.

May brings 23 years of management experience gained from his career at Sufco Mine. He also managed uranium operations at the Ticaboo Mine and served as the associate director of mining for the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining from 1985 to 1988. He is also on the Sevier Valley Hospital board and the Utah Mining Association executive committee.
